Getting Started
with Speech Pathology

Accessing speech pathology services can feel confusing or overwhelming at first- but we’re here to make the process simple, supportive, and stress-free.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you understand what to expect.

01.

Initial Phone Consultation

Start with a free, friendly chat with our team. We’ll listen to your concerns, answer your questions, and help determine whether speech pathology support is the right next step for you or your loved one.

02.

Assessment

We offer a range of assessments tailored to different ages and communication needs. Assessments typically involve 1 to 1.5 hours of face to face time and are used to gain a clear understanding of your speech, language, or communication skills. Assessments are often required for developing a treatment plan or applying for therapy funding.

03.

Individualised Planning and Reporting

Following the assessment, your speech pathologist will prepare a detailed report outlining strengths, areas for support, and recommended goals. We’ll work together to create a therapy plan- including how often sessions will take place- to suit your lifestyle and help you make meaningful progress.

04.

Therapy

Therapy sessions are designed to be engaging, practical, and goal-focused. Your speech pathologist will get to know you (or your child) and tailor sessions to build communication skills that matter most-whether that’s speaking clearly, understanding language, social interaction, or using communication tools. We also offer support for families and caregivers to help embed progress into everyday life.

05.

Review /
Re-Assessment

Progress matters. At regular intervals, we’ll reflect on achievements, update goals, and decide if any changes are needed to the therapy plan. This ensures our support stays relevant, effective, and aligned with your evolving needs.
